Colours for amber eyes
This is your palette
Amber eyes are one even shade of gold or copper, and in our quiz they pull towards warm almost every time. Readers with amber eyes land most often in True Autumn, then Deep Autumn or True Spring. Your hair and skin decide which: how light or deep you are, and how soft or clear.
What it says about your colouring

Tips
- Amber glows brightest beside its opposite. Teal, petrol and a deep warm blue make the gold in the eyes stand out; plum and aubergine do the same with a softer edge.
- To deepen the colour rather than light it up, repeat it: copper, cognac, rust, mustard, bronze. A cognac leather jacket or a rust knit near the face makes amber eyes look richer.
- Icy pastels, cool grey and blue-pink fuchsia are harder near the face: next to them amber eyes easily read as plain brown. If you love them, wear them lower down and keep a warm colour at the neckline.
- In make-up the rule is the same: bronze, copper and warm brown shadow repeat the gold, and a plum or navy liner sets it off by contrast.
- Your hair and skin set the rest. With light hair, try the clearer warm shades – peach, warm coral, golden yellow; with dark hair and strong contrast, the deeper ones, and now and then look at a Winter palette too. The quiz reads all three together.
How to find your palette
Colour analysis reads three things in your colouring: warm or cool, light or deep, clear or soft. The quiz asks about your eyes, hair and skin, looked at in a mirror by a window in daylight. It never photographs or scans your face, and the palette it finds is yours to keep.
