What to wear with mustard
This is your palette
Mustard is golden, warm and slightly muted, and it lives in the Autumn palettes – soft, true and deep – each with its own ochre or burnished gold. True Spring carries a brighter marigold. For Light Summer, True Winter and Deep Winter it is harder near the face: the yellow fights a cool colouring. Below, each palette’s version and what to wear with it.

Harder near the face for
For these palettes it fights the face. Lower down, or as a small accent, it can still work.
Tips
- Mustard and navy are a classic pair: warm against cool, light against dark.
- Mustard with olive, rust or chocolate is the full Autumn look; with cream and camel it is softer.
- Mustard and grey work when the grey is warm – a taupe-grey rather than a cold steel.
- If mustard is harder near your face, wear it as a skirt, trousers or a bag and keep your own colours up top.
How to find your palette
Colour analysis reads three things in your colouring: warm or cool, light or deep, clear or soft. The quiz asks about your eyes, hair and skin, looked at in a mirror by a window in daylight. It never photographs or scans your face, and the palette it finds is yours to keep.
