What to wear with olive green
This is your palette
Olive is at home in the Autumn palettes – soft, true and deep – and two others carry a version of it too: Soft Summer a greyed olive gold, Deep Winter a muted olive. For True Summer and True Winter it is harder near the face: the yellow in it fights a cool, clear colouring. Below, each palette’s olive with what to wear it with.

Harder near the face for
For these palettes it fights the face. Lower down, or as a small accent, it can still work.
Tips
- Olive and navy are a quiet, grown-up pair: one warm and earthy, one cool and dark. Take the navy your palette carries.
- Olive with rust, terracotta or mustard is the full Autumn look; with cream and camel it is softer and easier for every day.
- Olive and pink sit almost opposite on the colour wheel – a dusty rose or a soft plum next to olive looks deliberate, not loud.
- If your palette keeps olive away from the face, wear it as cargo trousers, a skirt or a bag, and keep a colour from your own palette up top.
How to find your palette
Colour analysis reads three things in your colouring: warm or cool, light or deep, clear or soft. The quiz asks about your eyes, hair and skin, looked at in a mirror by a window in daylight. It never photographs or scans your face, and the palette it finds is yours to keep.
