What to wear with camel
This is your palette
Camel is a warm colour: in our twelve palettes it belongs to the Springs and the Autumns, each with its own version – lighter and clearer in Spring, deeper and more golden in Autumn. For the cool palettes it is harder near the face, where it can make skin look sallow. Below, each warm palette’s camel with what to wear it with, and the cool palettes that do better with a cooler beige or a taupe up top.

Harder near the face for
For these palettes it fights the face. Lower down, or as a small accent, it can still work.
Tips
- Camel with navy is the classic pair, and it works because one is warm and light, the other cool and dark – take both from your own palette.
- Camel with cream or ivory reads soft and quiet; camel with a clean white reads crisper – the first suits Autumn, the second Spring.
- If your palette is cool and you love a camel coat, wear it open over a top in your own colours, so the colour near your face is yours.
- Camel and black can look harsh on light colouring; chocolate brown or navy as the dark makes the same outfit softer.
How to find your palette
Colour analysis reads three things in your colouring: warm or cool, light or deep, clear or soft. The quiz asks about your eyes, hair and skin, looked at in a mirror by a window in daylight. It never photographs or scans your face, and the palette it finds is yours to keep.
