Bright Spring
This is your palette
Warm-neutral, mid-toned and very clear. High contrast is the point; muting anything here kills it.
Also called Clear Spring.
If this is your palette
Your colouring is golden, mid in value and clear in chroma. Those three properties are the whole of it – every rule below follows from them.
Shades that share all three sit quietly beside your face. Shades that miss one are usually still wearable at a distance from the face; shades that miss two are the ones that make people ask whether you are tired.
Colours that suit you
- Vivid Coral#FF5A36
- Clear Warm Red#E62D2ATomato red, not blue-red.
- Bright Golden Yellow#F5BE1E
- Emerald Bright#00A85C
- Bright Warm Blue#3E6BE0Your blue. Royal, with warmth under it.
- Bright Violet#9A5FD8Clear violet – the region the old palette could not reach.
Your white and your dark
- Best whiteBright IvoryBest white for you. Bright, with the barest warm cast.
- Best darkDark ChocolateUse instead of black. Warm enough to sit beside your gold.
Colours to keep away from your face
Harder next to your face – dusty, greyed or muddied against clear warm colouring. Lower down, or as a small accent, they can still work.
- Muted SageGreyed green flattens a face built on contrast.
- Smoky TealDulled and cold. Your teal is Aqua Bright.
- Ash MauveNo clarity in it at all.
- Blackened PlumHeavy and cold; it swallows your colouring.
- Stone GreyMid grey is the one shade that makes you look tired.
- True BlackToo hard beside clear warm colouring. Wear Dark Chocolate or True Navy.
Make-up and hair
Everything you put near your face follows the same three rules: keep it golden, keep it mid, keep it clear.
- BaseWarm-toned bases, and finishes from matte to a soft sheen. Anything with a cool grey base will look ashen on you.
- EyesBronze, warm brown and deep teal. Skip anything with a violet base.
- BrowsMatch your hair and define the shape without drawing a hard line.
- LashesA defined lash suits you. Black works if your colouring is deep, brown if it is not.
- LipsCoral, warm red and bright peach.
- NailsA single saturated shade from your signature range, or a clean sheer.
- HairStay within warm or neutral tones. Ash and cool-toned dye fights golden skin.
- EveningDeepen and saturate. Evening is where your palette can go to its fullest strength.
Metals and stones
Metals
Bright silver sits cold against golden skin. If you like a pale metal, choose a warm-toned pewter.
Stones
Cloudy or heavily included stones look dull beside clear colouring – the stone should have some light in it.

How to find your palette
Colour analysis reads three things in your colouring: warm or cool, light or deep, clear or soft. The quiz asks about your eyes, hair and skin, looked at in a mirror by a window in daylight. It never photographs or scans your face, and the palette it finds is yours to keep.
