Colours for green eyes
This is your palette
In our quiz green eyes do not tip the balance towards warm or cool – that is left to your hair and skin. What they do is nudge colour towards clear rather than greyed. With the rest of your answers, green-eyed readers often end up in an Autumn or a Spring palette, most of all Soft Autumn and Light Spring, but the cool palettes stay open.
What it says about your colouring
On its own, it says nothing about warm or cool.
It can carry clear, saturated colour.
The palettes it leads to most often

- Warm Terracotta
- Soft Ochre
- Peach Bloom
- Warm Apricot
- Vivid Coral
- Clear Warm RedTomato red, not blue-red.
Tips
- Plum, aubergine and wine sit opposite green on the colour wheel, so they make green eyes look greener. Worn near the face – a scarf, a top, a pair of frames – they do the most work.
- A green close to the shade of your eyes – moss, olive, a muted forest green – echoes them. A green much louder than your eyes, such as neon or acid green, pulls the attention away from them.
- Look at your green in daylight. Flecks of gold or brown point to the warm side: try camel, rust and terracotta first. Grey-green or blue-green points cooler: try dusty rose and soft navy, and look at the Summer palettes too.
- If a greyish beige or a flat mid-grey makes your eyes look dull, swap it for a cleaner neutral: cream instead of stone, chocolate instead of taupe, navy instead of charcoal.
How to find your palette
Colour analysis reads three things in your colouring: warm or cool, light or deep, clear or soft. The quiz asks about your eyes, hair and skin, looked at in a mirror by a window in daylight. It never photographs or scans your face, and the palette it finds is yours to keep.
