Colours for pale skin
This is your palette
In our quiz very pale, porcelain skin is one of only two skin answers that vote on warm or cool, and it votes cool – but by one step, so your hair and eyes can still outvote it. With the rest of your answers it most often leads to Light Spring or Light Summer, and with fair, light brown or grey hair the result is always one of these two light palettes. Black hair changes the picture: next to pale skin it makes a strong contrast, and that points to a Bright palette, most often Bright Winter.
What it says about your colouring
On its own, it leans cool.

Tips
- Start light, not dark. With fair hair, very deep shades and solid black next to the face tend to take over; wear them lower down – trousers, a skirt, shoes – and keep a light colour at the neckline.
- Then find your side of the line. If ivory and gold look better on you than pure white and silver, try peach, soft coral and warm aqua from Light Spring; if white and silver win, try rose, lavender and powder blue from Light Summer. Check it at the mirror in daylight.
- By the face, choose a light colour that reads clearly as a colour – blush, mint, sky blue – or one shade deeper than your skin. A nude or pale beige top at exactly your own lightness blurs the line between you and it.
- If your hair is black, wear the contrast you already have. Pure white with navy or black, a clear berry, a true royal blue – these suit pale skin and black hair, while dusty, greyed shades tend to look flat next to them.
How to find your palette
Colour analysis reads three things in your colouring: warm or cool, light or deep, clear or soft. The quiz asks about your eyes, hair and skin, looked at in a mirror by a window in daylight. It never photographs or scans your face, and the palette it finds is yours to keep.
