Colour analysis
Colour analysis questions
This is your palette
What is colour analysis?
Colour analysis finds the colours in harmony with your natural colouring: the undertone of your skin, how light or deep your hair, skin and eyes read together, and how clear or soft they are. Worn near the face, those colours make skin look even and eyes look clear.
How many colour seasons are there?
Four seasons split colouring into warm and cool, light and deep. The twelve-season system adds the third property – clear or soft – so each season has three palettes, twelve in all.
Can your colour season change?
Your undertone does not change with age. What changes is depth and contrast: as hair goes grey it loses pigment, so your colouring reads lighter and softer, and your palette can move a step – usually without changing temperature.
Does a tan change your colour season?
A tan darkens the surface of the skin, not its undertone. Take the quiz without a fresh tan if you can; if not, choose the skin tone you have for most of the year.
What if my hair is dyed?
Dye changes how colours look next to your face, not your undertone. For the analysis, go by your natural colour – the shade at the roots. When you choose a dye, staying on your palette’s side of warm or cool keeps it looking like your own.
Do I need a photo or a stylist?
No. The quiz asks about your eyes, hair and skin, looked at in a mirror by a window. It never photographs or scans your face, and it takes about five minutes.
Why does the light matter?
Lamplight warms everything and makes warm and cool hard to tell apart. Daylight by a window, out of direct sun, shows your colouring as it is.
What if I am between two seasons?
Most people who sit between two palettes share two of their three properties with both. The comparison pages show what parts each pair and how to check it yourself.
Is colour analysis the same as body shape?
No. Colour analysis is about colour; body shape is about cut – how your shoulders, waist and hips compare. The MondeStyle quiz finds both, and a style direction.
Is the result free?
Yes. Your palette, your outline and your style direction are yours to keep, without an email or a card.
